Generally you would describe yourself as a motivated and resourceful Electrical Engineer, with some good background in Control Systems and Instrumentation.

You have probably worked on design and some project engineering for different Australian and international mining projects, up to and including commissioning.

You would describe your electrical design experience as Single Line Diagrams, Electrical Equipment Lists, Load Lists, Cable Schedules, Termination Diagrams, Instrument Lists, I/O Lists, Control Schematics.

And while you enjoy the variety that some control systems, DCS and PLC work can provide, your true passion is electrical design in minerals processing projects, including refurbs and greenfields SAG Mills, Ball Mills, crushers, feeders, conveyor systems and port loading facilities.

So now maybe you sit there reasonably happy in your current role but there are a couple of things missing. Maybe you are too narrow, only designing one aspect of each project, or missing out on some site commissioning time, all critical experiences for future managerial roles. Or maybe your current company is winding down on some projects and you just want to put your head up and see what is out there.

I am currently recruiting for two Electrical Engineers for two fairly similar Perth based consultancies, in fact both roles are quite similar in nature. One client has landed some lovely $80-$200M projects and is all set for the next 2 years, plus their construction division also ensures additional projects on a regular basis. The second client should be considered an electrical specialist in Perth that has worked on some landmark projects, and will continue to do so because of their international affiliations.

What will decide for you of which roles suits best is simply cultural fit, the vibe you get when you meet the Managers and also team members you will be working with.

Absolute minimum requirements for these roles are B Eng (Elec), at least 5 years experience in an Australian consultancy working on mining projects, ideally minerals processing but materials handling will be considered for the right candidate looking to make a switch. Candidates from manufacturing or overseas can not be considered for these roles please.

Working with a mid-tier EPCM with major mining projects, you will be based in Perth.This role will see youimplement a number of innovative advanced control schemes while acting as a consultant in the design, contact supervision, configuration and commissioning of the company’s client's control systems.

Provide management and leadership within the Process Control, Communications and Instrumentation fields while also being responsible for the engineering, improvement and maintenance of the Process Control Systems, involving technical improvement projects, capitol projects and ongoing product training.
Accountabilities in the instrumentation, information and control systems areas (including electrical distribution) involving asset administration provisions – establish and maintain a team to achieve budgeted plant performance and costs, manage the process of identifying and improving plant maintenance, reliability and optimisation.
Implement project, hardware and software upgrades, system expansions, commissioning and testing of equipment, customer liaison.
